Love Children NC and Legal Aid of NC provided information about Short-Term Suspension Policy 4351 and the questions you should ask before your child is suspended from school. This free event also included suspension data from the New Hanover County Schools and a Q&A. The meeting was held August 5, 2023, at Macedonia Baptist Church Fellowship Hall located at 4925 New Centre Drive In Wilmington NC. Additional sessions are being planned.

It was a fun event to meet people from all over the region. We distributed information to both other organizations and individuals. In partnership with the Ability Garden both adults and children potted aloe plants to take home. This activity was an opportunity to have a connection.

Love Our Children NC offered information and a prize of 4 tickets to Jungle Rapids Water Park and a $100 Gift Certificate so the family could really enjoy their day. Several hundred gave us their contact info so that we could reach the winner at the end of the Back to school Bash.
